Production Manager at Yara International

Responsibilities
The role has a few direct reports with overall accountability of 3 production plant outputs on site and reports directly to the Operations Manager.
Effective Management of Production plants within the agreed budgetary constraints and HSEQ policies. Plant operations are based at the Umbogintwini site.

• Implementation and achievement of production plans. Planning, organizing and achieving overall production outputs +- 90 000 tons per anum as per agreed budgets and business plans.
• Controlling performance standard, measuring output, calculating variances and forecasts and correcting production inefficiencies.
• Maintaining and adherence to financial budgets.
• Developing relationships and coordinating with support business areas like engineering/maintenance.
• Leading by decision-making, communicating, motivating, selecting and developing people.
• Lead, manage and control labour. Together with Human Resources manage relations with Union.
• Controlling by developing performance standards, measuring performance, calculating performance, correcting performance.
• Maintaining ISO standards on the plant.
• Providing input and feedback to management on business plan achievements.
• Focus on Yara Improvement Systems. Continuous process improvements.

Nature of the role impacts operational, functional and day to day activities of the plant. The incumbent has dealings with suppliers, transporters and contractors.

Qualifications

• Ideally someone will be sourced that had Production Management and or Engineering Qualifications with 5 - 10 years’ experience within the heavy industrial and or chemical manufacturing environment. Related engineering qualification at appropriate NQF levels. Must be sensitive to all HESQ issues and display a high level of quality awareness.
