Production Operator Casing Welder (Witbank) at Samancor Chrome

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• To safely install electrode casings, load electrode paste and monitor paste levels

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENTAND QUALITY

• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)

CUSTOMERS

BUSINESS PROCESSES

Electrode Management:

• Load electrode paste and monitor paste levels
• Install electrode casings to enable Söderberg electrode formation
• Conduct NDT post welding to ensure the quality of the weld is in line with requirements
• Ensure quality of the paste is in line with plant requirement

Maintenance:

• Assist with First Line Maintenance tasks 

Stock Control:

• Stock taking and management according to FIFO principle on weekly basis
• Deliver the consumables to respective plant and store as per FRCP hazardous management procedure
• Give feedback on the amount of material consumed and requirements 

Feedback & Reporting:

• Report equipment defects/deviations
• Shift inspections and -feedback
• Shift handover process

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12/N3
• 2 years’ relevant experience
