PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To conduct SHEQ and ISO inspections, administer the plant SHEQ processes, facilitate SHEQ systems management and compliance within the plant and to report on findings and corrective actions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY
- Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
- Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
- Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to analyse, identify trends, initiate, mitigate, investigate and report SHEQ status
- Ensure the OHSA safety, health and environmental legislative and Samancor Chrome standards are maintained
- Participate and comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
- Adhere to all related SOP’s, PTO’s and CTO’s as per Training Matrix per position, SHEQ and company standards
CUSTOMERS
- Ensure Customer Satisfaction
- Liaise with all relevant interested parties
- Participate in relevant internal and external committees
BUSINESS PROCESSES
- Generate SHEQ Near Miss Reports
- Facilitate Incident Investigations
- Facilitate Management of Change (MOC’s)
- Facilitate 5S program within the plant
- Monitor the Fire Fighting equipment
- Conduct SHEQ Inspections
- Conduct ISO layered Audits and ensure ISO standards are maintained
- Collate & report SHEQ statistics
- Facilitate and ensure compliance to Samancor and MFC SHEQ systems, standards, procedures and requirements
- Schedule SHEQ Interventions and SHEQ Drills
- Monitor Job Observations and unsafe acts
- Monitor and facilitate behavioural observations
- Monitor implementation of corrective and preventative actions
- Monitor activities of contractors on site
- Coordinate and audit systems to ensure compliance to applicable legislation and internal requirements
- Facilitation of a Safety & Health Programme in the plant
- Project work

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Higher Certificate (NQF 5) or National Diploma (NQF 6) in Safety Management or equivalent
- 4 years’ relevant experience, preferably 1 year’s supervisory experience
ADVANTAGEOUS
- Degree in Safety Management

- Valid Driver’s license (minimum B/ Code 8)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure compliance with Mineral and property Rights related legislation and to propose optimal business models in order to extract maximum value from the mineral, surface and other company assets.

BUSINESS PROCESSES
Mineral Rights:
- Maintain user rights on Mineral Right Management database
- Engage with geologists to identify potential additional mineral resource assets
- Assist and facilitate with the comprehensive interaction between relevant stakeholders and company personnel to provide a transparent and engaging culture in the Mineral Resources and services departments.
- Maintain and support the responsible person with the relevant information to engage with DMRE regarding mineral rights and environmental authorisations
Surface Rights:
- Update and maintain company Surface Rights with regards to Servitudes and Land Claims
- Negotiate and consult with government authorities regarding Surface Rights requirements
- Provide the operations with Mining and Surface Rights as well as other related advice
- Assist with municipality applications
Mining and Petroleum Resources Development (MPRD) Act:
- Apply for new mining and prospecting Rights via DMRE SAMRAD system
- Monitor compliance with MPRD Act in terms of converted Rights
- Ensure the legal requirements regarding the implementation of the MPRD Act at the Mines are met
- Review, evaluate and assist with Mining Work and Prospecting Work Program (MWP and PWP)
- Maintain administration of mineral rights, prospecting permits and ensure legal compliance
- Ensure annual submissions of MWP and PWP regulatory requirements
- Submission of all Section 102 and Section 11 applications via the online DMRE SAMRAD system.
Survey Draughting
- Prepare and design plans and reports and highlight problematic geological interpretations.
- Prepare Regulation 2.2 plans for all mining and prospecting right submissions
- Electronically updating of the current and forecasted positions of Geological structures and Geological zones when required by the site MR department.
- Adhere to all mine and or legal requirements in respect of storage of printed plans and information as per Mine Health and Safety Act, Chapter 17
- Report on all deviations from approved plans
Software License Management
- Coordinate with MR software providers to ensure technical support is available to the business units (BUs).
- Ensure accurate allocation of MR software licenses to the BUs.
- Maintain the annual upkeep of software licenses by ensuring timely payment of license fees and subscriptions.
- Assist in sourcing new software providers.
- Ensure that software license contracts are established.
