Production Planner at Essity

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the co-ordination of production orders to optimise customer service levels, stock holding (both raw materials & finished products) and scheduling of raw and packaging material requirements. What You Will Do

• Compile a weekly production loading schedule consistent to available raw material, works orders on SAP B1 to also ensure priority listing of the products.
• Monitor actual production against plan and resolve any shortfall with the Production leadership team during the course of the week. Must also communicate planning changes timeously to the production team.
• Monitor acceptable raw material stock levels as per agreed stock holding terms. 
• Responsible for placing orders with suppliers within the agreed terms set out by Commercial Purchasing such as price, lead time, minimum order quantity etc.
• Report on monthly capacity plans, equipment utilization, forecast and production realization
• Report on production progress by product and or product code and production centre
• Participate and contribute meaningfully in setting of Sales forecast and annual Budget process
• Monitor, control and ensure timeous completion of sterilization process of all Finished Goods (where deemed necessary) while keeping to accurate control of stock in transit.
• Adhere to all company protocols including relevant SOPs, Code of Conduct, Health & Safety standards etc.

Who You Are

• Must have minimum Matric qualification tertiary qualification in Logistics/Supply Chain or equivalent 
• Must have at least 2-3 years’ production planning experience within manufacturing environment 
• Must have excellent functional Microsoft package skills – Excel skills must be at intermediate to advanced level.
• Must have exposure / understanding of an ERP system; knowledge of SAP B1 is an added advantage
• Must have excellent and proactive communication skills both written and verbal
• Must have good numerical skills with analytical and numerical reasoning ability
