    Professional Nurse Grade 1 – PNA2

    Requirements :

    • Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Diploma or Degree in nursing) that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse & Midwife. Current registration with the South African Nursing Council for 2026.
    • Exposure in working in Obstetrics & Gynaecology/ Paediatrics post training will be an added advantage. Competencies/Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrate an understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices.
    • Perform a clinical nursing practice in accordance with the scope of practice and nursing standards as determined by the relevant health facility. Promote quality of nursing care as directed by the professional scope of practice and standards as determined by the relevant health facility.
    • Medical testing/assessment-Applicant should be prepared to undergo medical surveillance.

    Duties :

    • Provide optimal, holistic, specialised nursing care with set standards and within a professional/legal framework. Effective utilisation of resources. Participate in training and research.
    • Provide support to nursing services. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development. Act as shift leader in the unit (where necessary). Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors and other health professionals and junior colleagues. Implementation of Ideal Hospital Framework.
