    Professional Nurse

    Description
    Coordination of the Vaccine Support and Vaccination Site
    (85%) Vaccination Support

    • Provide support to all health facilities that is required might it be roving- or direct support.
    • Communicate Site operating programme in advance to team members and Communications to upload on RtC Facebook
    • Complete Baseline facility assessments, Evaluation assessments with Quality Improvement Plans to all supported facilities as per instruction
    • Provide in-service trainings where required and instructed by line manager
    • Assist with implementation of QIP (Quality Improvement Plans) of all supported health facilities
    • Utilise Community health Workers to create awareness and communications about site and planned activities including "demand creation", screening for vaccination and linking to nearest health facility for vaccination
    • Ensure Pre-registration
    • Ensure Pre-screening at the Vaccination Site
    • Ensure Patient queuing / social distancing and other infection control measures are adhered to
    • Ensure signage between pre-screening and registration
    • Ensure EVDS registration for all walk-in’s

    Ensure Post registration: Post reg waiting / holding area and signage to Vaccination Stations
    Vaccination Station

    • All clinical requirements are met (e.g., site set-up according to requirements, clinical equipment, and administration of vaccine)
    • All administrative requirements are met such as all Covid-19 related documentation to be completed daily
    • Ensure accurate and on-site capturing of the client’s detail onto EVDS.
    • Complete paper based EVDS forms per each client if online EVDS system is not working
    • Vaccinator writing up and signing of vaccination card
    • Post - Observation area clearly identified and adhere to requirements
    • Clinical monitoring of patient in accordance with 15- or 30-minute clinical protocol
    • Treat Clients who present with any medical emergency
    • Ensure cleanliness of the vaccination site
    • Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) protocols adhered to in a case of an adverse event
    • Ensure a system in place with surrounding CHW’s to measure how many clients linked to the vaccination site

     
    Cold Room and Cold Chain:

    • Ensure cold chain requirements are met
    • Receiving Vaccine Supplies
    • Ice packs, Cold boxes in place
    • Refrigeration, thawing and monitoring of cold chain
    • Vaccines and consumables:
    • Drawing and mixing of vaccine and diluent in accordance with clinical protocol
    • Vaccine and consumables supplies’ ordering
    • Transport of supplies to site (daily for outreach sites)
    • Dispose of medical waste in accordance with protocol
    • Proper Management of consumables and stock Administration Duties
    • (15%) Compile daily data and compare with number of vaccines administered, capturing on EVDS records, as well as RtC headcount sheet
    • Management of site supplies (e.g., IT hardware)
    • Ensure that back-capturing is happening of paper forms when EVDS is offline
    • Daily and Monthly Reporting as per RtC reporting tool
    • Monthly plan calendar shared with line manager indicating where support and on-site vaccinations will be given
    • Weekly feedback to Line manager on the past week’s performance as well as the plan for the following week
    • Required stationery available e.g., vaccination cards, ADAPT tick sheets, ADAPT attendance registers, EVDS forms, AEFI forms

    Requirements

    • A Diploma in General, Community and Midwifery Nursing
    • Own transportation and willingness to use own vehicle
