Professional Nurse-Speciality (PN-B1)- Midwifery and Neonatology
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Diploma /Degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with South African Nursing Council (the SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
A post basic nursing qualification (Midwifery and Neonatology with a duration of at least one year, accredited with the SANC. Proof of current registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
A minimum of 04 years appropriate/ recognisable experience in Nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
Duties :
Provision of high-quality specialised nursing care in maternity and neonatal. Ability to impart knowledge and support to the none specialised Midwifes.
Provide quality midwifery services to patients of different backgrounds and religious believes.
Be an advocate for patient’s individual health needs. Participate in morbidity and mortality meetings.
Ability to laisse with different stake holders to improve patients outcome. Adhere to basic principle of Infection Prevention and control. Ensure that Nursing care provided is within the scope of practise of nurses and the legal framework.
Display Professionalism and adherence to nursing professional ethics. Ability to perform nursing administrative duties including shift leading relieving the Operational Manager. Must be willing to work day and night duty/shift.
