Professional Nurse Specialty: Occupational Health And Safety Grade 1-2
Diploma / Degree in Nursing in terms of R425, or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
A post basic qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, with duration of at least 2 years accredited with the SANC in terms of government notice no R212 in the relevant specialty.
A minimum of 4 years appropriate / recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a professional nurse with the SANC in general nursing.
At least 2 years (of the 4 years) must be experience in an occupational health and safety environment. A valid driver’s licence Code B. Computer literacy will be an advantage
Duties :
Responsible for the health and safety of all employees at Steve Biko Academic Hospital. Ensuring that workers are not affected by blood borne pathogens and chemical substances in the work environment.
Effective utilization of human and service resources. To remain active and productive within a professional / legal framework. Maintain professional growth / ethical standards and development of self and subordinates. Participation in training and research.
