    Professional Nurse Specialty (Theatre, ICU, Paeds, Trauma & Emergency and Martenity)

    Requirements :

    • Diploma or Degree in Nursing (Basic R171,174 or R425) qualification or equivalent that allows registration with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional / Registered Nurse.
    • The incumbent must have a post basic qualification with a duration of at least 1 year in one of the above-mentioned specialties accredited by SANC. Knowledge of all legislation relevant to health care services. The incumbent will work in the relevant specialty under direct supervision of the Operational Manager.
    • Good communication skills, report writing skills, facilitation skills, coordination skills, planning and organizational skills, problem solving skills, information management skills.

    Duties :

    • Provision of specialized nursing care relevant to the qualifications scope of practice. Provide direction and implementation of Nursing plan (clinical practice/quality patient care). Implement standards, practices, criteria an indicator for quality nursing and health care. Promote professionalism and always leading by example. Coordination of activities with other health care professional.
    • The incumbent will be a shift leader of the nursing team and relieving the operational manager. Ensure that all quality assurance standards and other mandates are implemented during his/her shift. Practice nursing and health care within the relevant regulations and Laws. Utilize human, physical and material resources efficiently and effectively. Demonstrate an understanding of legislation and ethical nursing practices. Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure good nursing care.
    • Work effectively, amicably with people with diverse intellectual, cultural, racial or religious differences. Be able to plan and organize own work and that of support personnel to ensure proper nursing care. Provision of quality patient care through adherence to set standards, policies and procedures.
    • Providing more complex nursing care that leads to improve service delivery by upholding Batho-Pele Principles and Patients Right Charter. Effective utilization of resources. Participation in training and research. Maintenance of professional growth, ethical standards and self-development. Must be prepared to work shifts.
