    Professor/ Associate Professor (Private Law)

    Introduction

    Job Specification:

    • Will be required to teach, develop, manage and write study material for modules in South African Law in English in undergraduate level.
    • You will be responsible to teach, develop, manage and write study material for modules in English on postgraduate level and supervise postgraduate students. 
    • You will be required to be actively involved in research and publications, academic development, faculty and departmental administrative and other activities and community service.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Relevant Doctoral Degree.
    • Extensive teaching experience.
    • Proven significant research output.
    • Recognised academic leadership.
    • Waiver of one or more of these requirements is possible in the case of other proven scholarly merit or relevant professional background and experience.
    • Specialisation in one or more of areas of Private Law with an interest in Law of Contract and/or Law of Delict and/or Estoppel and Enrichment is required.

    Recommendations:

    • Ability to write course material and teach on an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
    • NRF rating or eligible to apply.

    Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:

    • Excellent communication and writing skills.
    • Ability to work as a member of a department and faculty.
