    Professor/ Associate Professor (X1): Fuel Cell Energy (Ref.CSET/JM/2026/PAP-ICES-FCE-4/New)

    Post specific requirements for Professor:

    • Doctorate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
    • Candidates must have a proven track record in the field of Electrochemistry, Electrochemical Energy
    • Material Design and Application in the field of Fuel Cell Conversion and Devices.
    • Experience in Fuel Cell Device Integration and Assembly.
    • Minimum of 5 years of academic teaching/work/relevant experience.
    • Proven research profile and consistent publication record in journal articles, peer-reviewed conference proceedings, book chapters or books in line with the Unisa Research and Innovation Policy.
    • A proven record of supervision of postgraduate students (Masters and Doctoral) to completion.
    • Involvement in Engaged Scholarship or Community Engagement.
    • A proven record of mentoring junior staff.
    • Ability to attract external funding and collaboration with other researchers, both nationally and internationally.

    Recommendations:

    • Professional Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. SACNASP and ECSA).
    • Participation in Departmental, Research Institute, School, College and University committees, including workplace committees.
    • NRF rating or eligibility to apply for rating.
    • Involvement in industry-based research projects.

    Post specific requirements for Associate Professor:

    • Doctorate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
    • Candidates must have a proven track record in the field of Electrochemistry, Electrochemical Energy

    • Minimum of 4 years of academic teaching/work/relevant experience.
