Project Engineer (FMCG - Food Production) at AVI Limited

Company Profile    
An opportunity has become available for a Project Engineer, based at the Snackworks Rosslyn factory and reporting directly to the Project Manager. This role requires a perceptive and productivity focused Engineer to implement solutions across the site.

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Manage projects from feasibility studies to implementation
• Analysis of project benefits, challenges and motivate feasibility
• Raising the capital vote and getting approval for projects
• Design P&ID diagrams and layouts to identify potential operational issues and ensure functionality
• Plan the project deadlines and ensure the objectives are met
• Project progress reporting
• Select and manage contractors aligned with company policy to ensure desired project outcome
• Liaising with suppliers concerning the design, manufacture and installation of equipment
• Cost control of approved projects
• Plant Change control management needs to ensure people and food safety
• Risk assessment to ensure safe working environment
• Ensure compliance with plant installation regulations and legislation
• Take part in the factory acceptance testing of new equipment as requested

Experience Required    

• At least 5 years' Project Engineering experience gained within a FMCG or Manufacturing environment
• Food production industry experience
• Autocad experience required

Minimum Qualifications Required    

• A completed BTech / BEng / BSc in Mechanical Engineering
• A Project Management diploma or equivalent

Knowledge Required    

• Advanced AutoCAD experience
• Project management
• Cost control
• Technical writing and presentation skills
• In depth knowledge of FMCG plant equipment i.e. Processing and Packing equipment
• Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, food processing and P&ID
• In depth knowledge of OSH-act and Food Safety systems(GMP’S and HACP)
