Project Executive at Alstom

Purpose of the Job

• Oversee execution of two main contracts of Gibela, viz. 1) Manufacturing and delivery of 600 trains over a 10 year project, 2) Management and oversight of 19 year Maintenance Contract. Both Projects have high Economic Development Delivery targets.
• Manage the Project Management Office of Gibela, including oversight of the Project Managers and Contract management office. Build / Maintain strong project management team in Gibela.
• Explore opportunities to influence positively the financial performance of the company.
• Manage a robust Risk portfolio of the projects.
• Build mutually beneficial relationships with Gibela’s key Customer(s). Enhances partnership spirit.
• Ensure Contracts are well managed, i.e. delivery on time and within budget and avoid penalties for contractual deliverables.
• Ensure healthy financial performance of the project.
• Seek / Propose to the CEO, Executive / Board innovative solutions to enhance company value.

• Sales (Milestones achieved on time),
• Gross Margin – achieved as per approved plan.
• Net Cash
• Customer Satisfaction  / Loyalty – achieved as per target  
• Product safety is assured.
• Risks up to date and with sufficient mitigation. 
• Opportunities and Savings register up to date.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Plan and manage the complete execution of Projects of Gibela. 
• Create and maintain a good relationship with Customer (s)
• Leads the Projects Team, including Project Managers in line with the project structure.
• Perform project management and contract administration according to the Project Management Manual (PMM), including proactive risk and opportunity management, and in full compliance with E&C rules.
• Ensure completion of Project Performance goals to meet business objectives and customer satisfaction.
• Responsible and accountable for the Profit of the existing projects – as per budget agreed at the launch for each project.
• Ensure optimal quality of project execution and reviews.
• Ensure that critical aspects are identified in reviews and proactively / professionally addressed and followed up.
• Manage the situation of the project and its KPIs, and report to senior management, with transparency during the business/sector project reviews,
• Make sure that key project stakeholders are aligned with project goals.
• Customer interface for Gibela with Customers and when applicable; to external stakeholders.
• Ensure the product meets the specifications as per contract as well as all safety parameters as per responsible Manufacturer.
• Responsible to ensure full compliance with Code of Ethics

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Educational Requirements:

• Completed University degree in Engineering/Industrial/Commercial qualification.
• Postgraduate and / or Leadership Qualification advantageous.

Experience

1. Strong knowledge of Project management processes (background level depending on the complexity of the Project/Program)
2. Strong knowledge of railway products and systems advantageous.
3. Experience of working in and with multi-national companies and in different business cultures preferred.
