Project Manager at African Exploration Mining and Finance Corporation (AEMFC)

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering.
• Master’s Degree, Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) are advantageous.
• Mine Managers Certificate of Competency is an added advantage.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in project management within the mining sector/industry.
• Experience in mining projects from early development and concept stages.
• Proficiency in mine planning and design.
• Experience in managing and evaluating contract mining, including performance management and development of mining contractors from pre-stripping to operational readiness.
• Experience in the construction of associated infrastructure and handover processes.
• Proven track record of handling large budgets independently from concept to commissioning.
• Ability to manage and oversee service providers in the execution of mine projects and operations.
• Expertise in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management, Exco, and stakeholders.
• Skilled in developing detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risk assessments.
• Experience in identifying and evaluating potential project sites, considering technical, economic, environmental, and social factors.
• Proficient in coordinating and managing project teams, including engineers, geologists, surveyors, and other specialists.
• Effective in allocating resources, ensuring availability of equipment, materials, and labor as needed.
• Experience in overseeing procurement processes and managing relationships with contractors and suppliers.
• Strong leadership in implementing mining projects, ensuring adherence to plans and schedules.
• Ability to monitor project progress, identify, and address issues or deviations from the plan.
• Implementation of quality control measures and conducting regular inspections and audits.
