Project Manager: Precision Medicine at The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC)

Responsibilities:

• Project Execution and Management
• Program Coordination
• Compliance & Ethical Data Governance
• Stakeholder Liaison

Requirements

• 4-year tertiary qualification or 3-year degree with Honours, preferably in the specific science disciplines of genetics, bioinformatics, data science and/or molecular biology.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience coordinating/ managing multi-stakeholder projects preferably within an Omics workflow and research environment and preferably with experience in data and grant/project management.

Advantageous:

• MSc Genetics, Bioinformatics, Data Science and/or Molecular Biology with relevant knowledge obtained in the field
• Experience in a public funding research environment and/or industry, preferably managing Omics projects and/or workflows
• Demonstrated experience managing grants for a funder or at a research organization as a project manager of multiple grants with reporting to different funders
• Experience in Genomics/ Bioinformatics with knowledge on working with databases and handling complex genomic data in various formats
• Experience in contracts management and program budgets
• Demonstrated experience in working across academia, government departments and industry
