Job Description:
As a Project Specialist, some of your duties will include:
Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities
Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources in collaboration with sites
Facilitate the design and development of project execution plans (PEP) in collaboration with site teams and local stakeholders (i.e., local municipalities and traditional councils)
Identify impact and implications of land acquisition, especially on social aspects
Ensure all project-related governance is followed in implementing changes during project execution
Facilitate decision making related to high impact grievances and communicate with management
Manage and deliver projects at multiple customers on time and within budget, report internal and externally on progress
Implement a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity, supports engagement and fosters continuous improvement to work processes
Set clear and consistent expectations, encourage individuals and teams to challenge the status quo and strive for improvements; embed expectations through Team+ tool
This role is in the Corporate Affairs department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Resettlement Project Delivery Manager.
Qualifications:
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in natural sciences (built environment)
Formal Project Management qualification
Your experience will include:
7 years related experience in the mining or related project environment
Construction management experience will be advantageous
Contractor management experience
Proficient in designing and managing social improvement projects and must have proficiency in compiling social profiles, social impact assessments
Extensive experience in interfacing and influencing colleagues and Senior Management
Advanced Knowledge of government socio-economic development plans
Proficient in conflict resolution
Must have advanced MS office suite
