    QC Team Lead

    Role and Responsibilities

    The successful applicant will be responsible for leading a team of QC scientists. The role requires leadership both in terms of personnel management and administration, and also at a technical and scientific level.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Planning and scheduling of QC testing for QC Scientists in the team to ensure that products are tested within the deadlines on the manufacturing schedule.
    • Approving QC reports generated by the QC scientists in the team in a timeous manner.
    • Managing OOS and RCA investigations for QC failures and repeats during product testing.
    • Communicating any delays/deadlines that cannot be met to the manufacturing team.
    • Maintaining and updating all QC related documents.
    • Participating in the CR/CAPA/NCR process for QC. 
    • Participating in validation activates applicable for QC.
    • Identifying training needs for QC scientists and arranging the relevant training.
    • Holding regular one-on-one meetings with the team members.
    • Managing probation reviews for any new team members.
    • Conducting performance reviews for the team and providing feedback to the QC Manager.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • 4 Years of relevant working experience or an equivalent relevant advanced degree (Masters / PhD) with 2 years of demonstrated ability to lead a team.
    • Experience in Molecular Biology techniques, such as PCR, qPCR and next-generation sequencing.
    • An understanding of the concepts associated with Quality Control.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint required).
    • Experience in ISO quality management systems (ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485) will be advantageous.
