    Quality Assurance Coordinator - Re-advertisement

    Requirements :

    • National Senior Certificate and a basic qualification accredited with South African Nursing Council (SANC) in terms of Government Notice. R425 Qualification (i.e. Diploma/Degree in Nursing as a Professional Nurse in General, Psychiatry and Midwifery.
    • A Minimum of Seven (7) years appropriate recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse.
    • A management qualification in Nursing accredited with SANC. Knowledge and understanding of the customer care Program.2. Two (2) years’ experience and knowledge of Quality Assurance including National Core Standards for health establishment and related legislation and Ideal Hospital Realisation and Maintenance.
    • Basic Computer literacy is essential, MS Office Packages (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint. Familiar with Code of Good Practice in the public sector and labour relations practices.
    • Ability to collect and analyse complex information relating to areas of operation and to transform that into a user friendly report and assessment. Have the ability to prioritise issues and other work-related matters and to comply with the time frames set. Evidence of current registration with SANC. A valid driver’s license is a requirement for the post.
    • COMPETENCIES: Have the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written). An aptitude for statistics and information analysis.

    Duties :

    • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the National Health Act, Norms and Standards, Ideal Hospital Framework, Quality Assurance Framework, Accreditation and Certification system, Infection Prevention and Control Standards and assessment Methods.
    • Quality Assurance and quality improvement initiatives, Health information Systems, and indicator Development, relevant Legislation, Risk Management. Conceptual, analytical, and creative thinking, evidence-based report writing.
    • Exceptional and analytical and interpersonal skills. Innovative and self-driven. Excellent planning and organising skills. A high level of ethical conduct and integrity.
    • Good presentation skills and communication skills. Project management skills as well as report writing skills, people management skills, intersectoral collaboration, and engagement with the external stakeholders.
    • Have knowledge of Ideal Hospital Realization and OHSC framework. Provide strategic leadership for the Quality Directorate in the institution towards the realization of the set strategic goals and objectives. Investigate management and reporting of complaints and patients’ safety incidents in the institution.
    • Ensure compliance to IHRM in the institution and implementation thereof. Participate in the Ethics Committee and facilitate training on Quality Assurance and professional Code of Conduct. Participate in Clinical Audit. Provide initiative to improve client satisfaction, advocate for and ensure the promotion of Quality Assurance activities. Monitor the implementation of policies, protocols, guidelines, programme, practice, and procedure pertaining to Quality improvement plans and SOPs.
    • Collate and analyse data to establish trends and patterns in the Health Care effectively. Utilize information technology and other service delivery; conduct Patient Experience of care Survey and share results with relevant stakeholders. Assist with the drafting of annual, quarterly, and other relevant quality assurance performance reports.
    • Attend external meetings. Monitor compliance to the policies of Patient Safety incidents, Complaints, and suggestions effectively. Ensure the implementation of quality in the institution including undertaking quality improvement activities. Develop Strategy/plans and provide leadership in the development of quality improvements plans and standard operating procedures (SOP).
