Quality Assurance Lead at DotModus

Scope:

We value a Quality Assurance Lead as someone who can simultaneously fulfil a technical automated testing role, as well as fulfil test advisory and professional communication needs for multiple project teams. You may come from a software engineering background and wish to extend yourself into change management and leadership, while still fulfilling your need to write code.

Alternatively, you may be an automated test engineer with some experience and you wish to share that experience by guiding testing strategy across a number of projects, while still leading by contributing quality code or feature definitions for project team members. For this role, we’re looking for someone who has experience in software or automation test engineering and is task focused, wanting to get things done to provide better quality code for customers.

This means that you have experience with writing code in any two of Python, JavaScript, Java or C#. Your professional report writing is excellent, you have software testing domain knowledge and have an opinion on the right way to do it. You are operationally focused, enjoy getting things done and are comfortable leading and presenting publically.

We are looking for someone who has extensive experience in : (non-negotiable) 

• BDD Testing : API (Java) , UI (Codecept) and GraphQL (CodeceptJS)
• Writing feature files ( Cucumber ) 
• Someone who work with clients and developers to convert business requirements into feature files
• Someone who can apply Git version control to projects and understands branching.

For this role, we’re looking for an experienced QA lead. Some of the other responsibilities will include :

Working with the Scrum Master to define, groom and capture specific test oriented backlog as it pertains to the project backlog. This involves :

• Assessing the technical / functional backlog of a project with the view of identifying the related test effort
• Identifying the related test effort
• Identifying the related test method and test tickets
• Identifying the related test data and test parameters that the test will fulfill
• Identifying the definition of done
• Creation of test tickets in Jira either directly as a Jira ticket or from a related product such as testrails or similar
• Instruct and manage allocated test staff or execute tests as defined in the resourcing of the ticket
• Provide reports on the execution, status and test logs to the Scrum
• Master so that this data can be used in weekly Scrum Master project status report.
