Quality Controller at Astral Foods Ltd

The ideal candidate would be responsible for:

• Control of the Micro Lab NIR and Quality:
• Stocktake (daily and monthly).
• Quality control on all incoming raw materials and finished products. 
• Surfactant monitoring and Salmonella controlled program.
• Daily replenishing of packing materials.
• Handling and analysis of on-farm raw materials.
• Maintain good housekeeping and cleaning in Micro Lab NIR.
• Completion of daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Timeous generation of P/O’s and receipting thereof.
• Ensuring that all raw materials and finished products are 100% traceable and ISO, GMP, HACCP, code of conduct and 20 Keys compliant.  Samples submitted as required and results available on the laboratory system.

The successful candidate must meet the following

• Grade 12 or equivalent; and/or relevant National Diploma Quality will be advantageous.
• Computer literacy in:  Excel and Outlook or other MS Office experience.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Possess a high work ethic, attention to detail with the required accuracy.
• Organisational ability and good time management.
• Ability to apply laboratory protocol and methodology.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Assertive, self-motivated and pro-active.
• Must be a team-player.
• Converse fluently in English and/or Xhosa.
