Quality Technician at Corteva Agriscience

You Will Be Part of Growing Team

Conditioning department is responsible for cleaning, sizing, and conditioning seed before it is treated with chemicals. The treated seed will then be packaged according to specifications of customers. Every packed seed bag needs to be sampled for retention and other in-house tests.

Your Challenge:

• Taking seed samples and making sure that samplers are taking samples correctly
• Preparing seed samples for submissions to the Seed Lab, physically and on the system
• Liaising with Quality Lab daily with regards to submission of samples.
• Working on SAP for ISL (Inspection lot) printing.
• Creating ISL for retest & special samples
• Organizing samples for A.I. Loading (Active ingredient) and updating the results on the Excel database.
• Handing over finished goods from Production to Supply Chain warehouse daily.
• Receiving product and sending product from and to other corteva sites and other departments.
• Updating inventory of treated bulk seed stored in the cold room.
• Ensuring that process discard is removed by approved contractor regularly.
• Delivering and collecting samples to/from external Lab weekly and monthly

Skills & Knowledge and Abilities

• SAP Experience
• Microsoft Excel
• Strong Communications skills, (escalation and making follow ups)
• Seed knowledge
• Driver’s license
• Sampling experience
• Ability to train shift samplers
• Ability to understand and follow standard company sampling rules and procedures
• Ability to collaborate with others in Operations & Quality functions.
• Ability to operate specialized laboratory equipment

Key Stakeholders and Interactions:

• The Quality Technician will be reporting to Area Leader of conditioning plant. Shift leaders, Samplers on shift,

Quality team and Seed Lab on site will be the stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Matric/ Grade 12 (Math’s & Science preferably)
• SANSOR Certificate will be added advantage
• Quality degree or diploma will be added advantage
