R&D SQA Associate Supervisor at RCL Foods

Job Description

Job Accountabilities:

• South Africa based SQA team member to deliver on going compliance with PepsiCo Global standards in SQA and Material Workstreams.

• Contact suppliers to request documentation where required, review and collate the documentation required, add it to the data base /IT systems and verify validity.

• Verify accuracy of current master supplier data by requesting information from the suppliers, reviewing for presence of supplier ingredient combinations, accuracy of site and contact information and audit details.

• Provide data, queries, analysis, background information on request.

• Follow up with suppliers to adhere to the required timelines for SQA working cross functionally to get information to suit agreed timelines.

• Support and deploy as required ,ongoing Supplier “ Programs” ( Sensitive Ingredients, Agro Contaminants, etc..)

• Execute against productivity agenda for local Business in the area of supplier quality liaising with external labs/manufacturing/quality and R&D personnel (local and global) as required.

• Work with SQA Leads to deliver improvements in Issue management (systems, methodology) to drive issue resolution/trouble shooting of material/supplier related activities

Qualifications/Requirements

• Graduate in a Food Science or related discipline or equivalent looking to build a long-term career within Quality Assurance.

• Preference is 5 years + in Manufacturing -Operations environment with Quality-Food Safety accountability

• Self-starter, self-motivating: able to balance competing priorities and manage uncertainty and complexity in fast evolving FMCG environments, Excellent time management / organization skills.

• Ability to quickly analyze complex problems to find actionable pragmatic solutions.

• Good understanding/appreciation of the broader business environment and application of technical and commercial knowledge during project execution.

• Business maturity in handling confidential information.

• Understanding of Food Science and Manufacturing.

• Strong analytical skills to interpret data and distil into meaningful information.

• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence through persuasive communication to win support at more senior levels within R&D and Supply Chain and to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from different levels, backgrounds and cultures.

• Ability to create and use networks to actively seek and take advantage of ideas, best practice and solutions developed elsewhere

• Whilst the role is day based at one location, willing to work flexible hours on occasion and travel as necessary
