    Rates Manager

    In this Rates Manager position

    • You will ensure appropriate knowledge and maintenance of rate management within the team.
    • You will liaise with Regional and Global for best practises for all billing experts and rates.
    • You will be loading all the landside charges for AFR & OFR suppliers in CW1.
    • You will manage the RTC’s for the rates structure.
    • You will manage the linking of local accounts to the Global customer (GC) accounts for South Africa.
    • You will generate rate increases (GRI) for AFR and OFR annually.
    • You will troubleshoot and provide support to the billing team.
    • You will load quotes for all shipments for various Legal entities within South Africa.
    • You will work closely with Global Service Centre (GSC) for prime rates (AFR, OFR, RFR) and fuel surcharges (AFR) when they fluctuate.
    • You will work closely with all products / departments to ensure correct rates are loaded in the system.
    • You will support all product / departments when queries related to rates are raised.
    • You will establish a course of action and a sequence of steps to ensure that activities and objectives are efficiently achieved.
    • You will ensure rates management process is documented and communicated to business.
    • You will lead Training and Support rates super users for all departments.
    • You will review and distribute User Releases / Helpful hints and training manuals to Super / End users where necessary.
    • You will develop a culture of quality, service excellence and continuous improvement.
    • You will initiate improvement opportunities using the First-Choice tools.
    • You will identify training needs and opportunities to develop highly skilled resources.
    • You will develop a high-performance service culture for potential resources.
    • You will manage the allocation of Job tasks and duties to potential resources to achieve the Global, Regional and Country objectives and targets. 

    Now, here’s what we need from you

    • 5 or more years’ experience required within a Freight Forwarding environment.
    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in Rates Management.
    • 4 or more years’ experience of End-User Training.
    • Must have a matric
    • Business degree or equivalent.
    • Cargowise Super-User Certification
