    Rates Manager

    In this Rates Manager position

    • You will ensure appropriate knowledge and maintenance of rate management within the team.
    • You will liaise with Regional and Global for best practises for all billing experts and rates.
    • You will be loading all the landside charges for AFR & OFR suppliers in CW1.
    • You will manage the RTC’s for the rates structure.
    • You will manage the linking of local accounts to the Global customer (GC) accounts for South Africa.
    • You will generate rate increases (GRI) for AFR and OFR annually.
    • You will troubleshoot and provide support to the billing team.
    • You will load quotes for all shipments for various Legal entities within South Africa.
    • You will work closely with Global Service Centre (GSC) for prime rates (AFR, OFR, RFR) and fuel surcharges (AFR) when they fluctuate.
    • You will work closely with all products / departments to ensure correct rates are loaded in the system.
    • You will support all product / departments when queries related to rates are raised.
    • You will establish a course of action and a sequence of steps to ensure that activities and objectives are efficiently achieved.
    • You will ensure rates management process is documented and communicated to business.
    • You will lead Training and Support rates super users for all departments.
    • You will review and distribute User Releases / Helpful hints and training manuals to Super / End users where necessary.
    • You will develop a culture of quality, service excellence and continuous improvement.
    • You will initiate improvement opportunities using the First-Choice tools.
    • You will identify training needs and opportunities to develop highly skilled resources.
    • You will develop a high-performance service culture for potential resources.
    • You will manage the allocation of Job tasks and duties to potential resources to achieve the Global, Regional and Country objectives and targets. 

    Now, here’s what we need from you

    • 5 or more years’ experience required within a Freight Forwarding environment.
    • 3 - 5 years’ experience in Rates Management.
    • 4 or more years’ experience of End-User Training.
    • Must have a matric
    • Business degree or equivalent.

    Product Development Manager - Perishables

    In this Product Development Manager - Perishables position

    • You will manage relationship of prospects in the Perishable sector (serves as primary contact for the customer; coordinates the account e.g. with regards to Trade Lane involvement).
    • You will seek and prospect for Strategic Customer targets to win new customers in the Perishable sector.
    • You will ensure that Key Account activities are aligned with global/regional Perishable sector strategy.
    • You will deliver the regional and country customer budget by maintaining a healthy pipeline, good contractual performance, and proactive thinking.
    • You will work on regional customer initiatives and for implementing global business plan contents for the Perishable sector.
    • You will collect relevant customer information for the RFI/RFP/RFQ and prepares documents for customer implementation to ensure proper operational handover and implementation to meet customer expectations (SLA's & SOP's).
    • You will coordinate account planning, customer enquiries and business reviews.
    • You will consult regional/global sector Heads on potential solutions and best practice in relation to the Perishable sector.
    • You will maintain knowledge and awareness of competing products/services, discount, pricing structures in the Perishable sector and how best to service and motivate key accounts to stay with the business.
    • You will ensure that profitable sales volume and strategic objective targets are met through assessing, clarifying, and validating consumers’ needs on an ongoing basis.
    • You will lead solution development for the identified improvement areas, coordinating involvement of any relevant business personnel.
    • You will develop and maintain strong existing customer relations and loyalty through ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • You will take part in the strategic account planning process in which departmental financial targets, performance objectives, account management standards, and critical milestones over specific periods of time are decided upon.
    • You will review target achievement and creates reports for senior management.
    • You will respond to customer enquiries/complaints.
    • You will conduct high quality presentation of the entire range of standardized products to customers.
    • You will develop target lists of new business within existing portfolio and continuously reviews and updates the pipeline.
    • You will negotiate with Perishable customers on contractual terms of service provision that is aligned to corporate sales policy and procedures.
    • You will adhere to approved credit limits granted to customers and enforce previously agreed payment terms.
    • You will prepare and realize planned sales calls. Report activities, quotes, sales calls and other information through customer database system i.e. ISell.
    • You will be responsible for ISell record keeping and estimate preparation and follow ups.
    • You will constantly improve own professional skills by attaining relevant certifications.
    • You will ensure seamless operational set up and service delivery based specific customer requirements.
    • You will work closely with operations to ensure smooth implementation of all new business.

    • Minimum of 4 years working experience in a Perishable marketing or operations or sales position.
    • A bachelor’s degree in business management, Communications, Marketing, Customer Relationship Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or any other related field.
    • Matric is a requirement.

    Head of Road Freight

    In this Head of Road Freight position

    • You will identify and develop potential, sustainable customer relationships.
    • You will respond to customer enquiries / complaints and lead in engagements and strategic customer interfaces with Key Account Contacts.
    • You will provide leadership in the areas of product and business development, resource utilization, Country organization and activities.
    • You will support and co-ordinate the development, implementation and localization of key initiatives and programs.
    • You will facilitate and support country’s efforts in maintaining healthy relationships with trade bodies and government agencies & authorities, including being an active subscriber or participant of global research agencies.
    • You will establish KPI’s and obtain agreement & commitment from Country management.
    • You will provide guidelines and support for the implementation of programs such as security regulation to meet country mandated regulatory requirements.
    • You will carry contact/negotiation (RFR) according to corporate policy and local requirements.
    • You will oversee the transport portal (Saloodo) and carry contract/relationship and performance management.

    • You will be responsible for EBIT result at country/country group level AFR.
    • You will define, monitor, and enforce targets to the operational units.
    • You will select and assigns key positions to reach targets.
    • You will analyze costs and cost structure of production on country/country group level and derives improvement measurements and actions.
    • You will be responsible for constant improvement and optimization of production means (cost management), e.g., make or buy.
    • You will define and implements ISO standards in line with corporate instructions.
    • You will be responsible for operational management, Production sites, Traffic management, technical support (buying, capacity etc.), Local purchasing on country/country group level for RFR according to corporate policy.
    • You will propose IT needs and be responsible for Preferred Carrier adherence as well as Operational KPI’s.
    • You will determine organization’s structure, roles and responsibility and performance targets for the function.
    • You will develop a culture of quality, service excellence (for internal customers), flexibility and cost consciousness.
    • You will develop a team spirit and multitasking capabilities within the team.
    • You will plan, organize, and direct an efficient and effective function.
