Readvertising: Chief Technical Officer (Grade 13) at Rhodes University

Main Objectives

 The purpose of this role is to oversee all the technical functions of the Department of Chemistry, including running of chemical stores, running of undergraduate laboratories, instrument maintenance, laboratory maintenance, and to provide technical support.

The Requirements
A bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) with majors in a science-based subject or equivalent technical qualification (NQF 7) with majors in a science-based discipline plus approximately 6 years’ relevant experience where such experience includes: -

• Appropriate physical or chemical science technical experience/certification (computer-based instrument repair, troubleshooting)
• Experience in the maintenance of electronic analytical equipment
• Supervision of a team
• Previous experience working in a technical environment.
• Previous experience working with maintenance safety standards
