Job Description:
Location: Johannesburg (Hybrid: Onsite on Tuesdays)

• This is a 12- month contract
• Our client in the banking industry is seeking a skilled Linux Systems Engineer to provide specialized technical support and expertise in installing, testing, tuning, diagnosing, and maintaining hardware and systems software, including OS, data management, office automation, and utility software.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform system installation, tuning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware/software.
• Ensure system performance through monitoring, diagnosing, and implementing standard fixes.
• Optimize and support ICT platforms by gathering performance metrics and advising on enhancements.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery procedures and maintain compliance with relevant standards.
• Liaise with vendors and maintain client relationships to ensure service requirements are met.

Requirements:

• Essential: 5 years of Linux administration experience (Red Hat Linux preferred).
• Preferred: 3 years experience in ZVM Systems, Satellite, VMware, Azure, AWS, and Chef.
