    Refugee Travel and Program Lead

    Duties

    • This position supports the Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM) Team in Pretoria and Johannesburg in implementing the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) and other PRM activities, with a focus on facilitating refugee travel for resettlement. The incumbent leads and coordinates with PRM implementers and their contracted staff on all tasks required to carry out refugee pre-departure orientation, travel packet document management, and airport-based travel support for refugees approved for admission to the United States under USRAP. This position requires frequent airport runs, typically multiple times per week. As some refugee flights depart at night, the incumbent must be available to work outside regular business hours, including evenings. The incumbent also backs up other PRM team members as needed to support USRAP implementation and PRM activities in Pretoria and Johannesburg. Duties may be performed at various locations and outside typical work hours. Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Requirements:
    All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust security clearance. 

    • All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam. 
    • Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time 12  weeks upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

    Education Requirements:

    • Two years of college studies is required.

    Experience:

    • At least two years of progressively responsible experience in administration, logistics, customer service, travel coordination, education, or NGO/humanitarian work is required.
