    Job Description

    • The DO MORE FOUNDATION inspires collaborative partnerships with a vision of “creating better tomorrows for the young children of South Africa through partnerships.” The Foundation places the young child at the centre of its programmes and initiatives with the belief that if you can impact and uplift the life of a young child, you will in turn impact the household, which will ultimately positively affect the community. Households and communities are therefore seen as its key developmental partners as the Foundation increases their capacity to better meet the needs of young children through projects directed at food security, youth development, economic development, and specific early childhood development initiatives.

The Regional ECD Manager will be responsible for managing the implementation of the DO MORE FOUNDATION’s ‘Everyone Gets to Play’ model in 3 provinces. This includes managing and the outputs, contracts, budgets, invoicing and reporting of Implementing Partners and other service providers; multi-sector stakeholder management including business, government and civil society; scoping, analysing and planning for expansion within existing and into new areas; managing the provision of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning data; and communicating insights and informing the broader portfolio strategy.

    Minimum Requirements

    • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
    • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in program management, community development, or a related field, with a proven track record of managing multi-stakeholder projects.
    • A relevant postgraduate qualification or certification in project management, such as PMP (Project Management Professional), could be advantageous but not essential.
    • Experience working in early childhood development, community development, or a related sector is highly desirable, but not essential.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Manage Implementation: Oversee the 'Everyone Gets to Play' model in 3 provinces, ensuring programs are implemented on time and within budget.
    • Partner Management: Manage outputs, contracts, budgets, invoicing, and reporting of Implementing Partners and service providers.
    • Budget & Reporting: Oversee the management of budgets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Evidence-Based Delivery: Ensure programs are delivered based on evidence and aligned with the DO MORE FOUNDATION's basket of services.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate multi-sector collaboration with businesses, government, and civil society.
    • Expansion Planning: Scope, analyze, and plan for expansion in existing and new areas.
    • Data Management: Oversee Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) data provision.
    • Strategic Communication: Communicate insights to inform the broader portfolio strategy.
    • Foundation Initiatives: Contribute to broader foundation initiatives and special national projects.
    • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to program implementation, ensuring continuity and effectiveness.
    • Capacity Building: Support Implementing Partners in building their capacity to deliver high-quality, sustainable programs.
    • Innovation & Best Practices: Encourage and implement innovative approaches and best practices within the region, adapting to local contexts.
    • Compliance: Ensure all activities are compliant with local regulations and the foundation’s policies.
