Regional Finance Controller at Vector Logistics

Job Purpose

• The VECTOR LOGISTICS Talent Team is on the hunt for an experienced Regional Finance Controller to join our logistics division based at our Linbro Park Network Regional Office. The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the Finance functions of the Linbro Park Network Depots.

Key Responsibilities

The key focus areas for the role are:

• Budgeting and Forecasting
• Coordinate the monthly financial close for respective depots
• Perform comparative analyses of results to budget, forecast and last year to test accuracy and reasonableness.
• Oversee prompt resolution of queries and reconciling items.
• Assess the level of accruals held for operational expenditure each month
• Measure, analyze and explain KPI fluctuations and variances.
• Ensure financial disciplines and internal controls are maintained.
• Manage the audit process and ensure deadlines are met
• Ensure high risk audit exceptions are attended too.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, the Income Tax Act and operational procedures internal controls.
• Ensure compliance with capex application and procure to payment processes.
• Lead and develop staff within the context of the Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Skills Development Act.
• Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback.
• Oversee and coordinate staff activities, ensuring service levels are met and protocols are adhered to.
• Coach and support staff where necessary to achieve objectives.
• Manage direct staff leave and general time management issues in line with organizational deliverables and standards.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required for the Job

Qualifications and Experience

• Matric
• Minimum tertiary financial qualification (Degree/Diploma)
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years financial accounting experience, preferably Logistics and Cold Storage Warehousing environment (Advantageous)
• Minimum of 2 – 5 years’ experience in supervisory/controller capacity Interaction with senior management within an organization
• SAP experience highly beneficial.
• Highly proficient in Excel & PowerPoint
• Supervisory experience advantageous
