Registered Nurse - Trauma at Melomed Private Hospitals

• Strong quality patient care orientation
• BLS competent
• Supervise and orientate junior staff members and students
• Perform teaching rounds with junior staff members and students
• Competent in physical assessment
• Ability to interpret the ABG’s and ECG’s
• Competent in administration of medication and IV medication
• Provide health education to parents and patients
• High energy levels and tolerance for stress/pressure
• Problem analysis/solving skills and accurate record keeping
• Adaptable and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and independently
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
• Ability to render basic and advanced nursing care without supervision
• Ability to identify and manage stroke patients

Requirements

• Current Registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum 2 -3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
• Proven experience in a Trauma Unit of at least one year
• Current BLS Certification
• Previous experience in a Private Hospital is advantageous
• Ventilator competency is essential
• Shift work compulsory
• Work overtime when required
• Be flexible and willing to assist in other departments
