Regulatory Controller at JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to complete all the local regulatory returns for all South African entities of large global banking group. Liaising with various other departments in the Branch and offshore, including Treasury, Technology, Operations and Financial Control to ensure all information needed is available for this.

Key responsibilities:

• Completing the following:

  • PA Returns which includes Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Credit, Liquidity, Capital and Statistical returns

  • Responding to formal and ad hoc queries from Regulator

  • JSE & SAFEX

• Regular checking of product files

• Strong control environment

• Technology enhancements in regulatory reporting tool

• Assist with annual external audit to ensure clean audit report

Key requirements:

• At least 6 years experience in a banking environment

• Relevant qualifications an advantage

• Strong awareness of control environment

• Firm grasp of financial principles and accounting

• Bank product knowledge

• Strong mathematical skills

• Knowledge of regulatory requirements an advantage

• Good communication skills in English, written and spoken

• Good MS Office skills

• Analytical/detail orientated

• Self starter – be able to work without constant supervision

• Working well under pressure and able to work without close supervision

• Innovative

• Logical & well organized

• Responsible and able to take ownership of role

• Team player
