    Resource Planner

    • Responsible for working closely with Human Capital / Resourcing lead per business unit to obtain an overall perspective on the demand for skills.
    •  Maintain good relationships with their competencies / business units.
    •  Drive behaviour across Advisory to ensure effective resource planning procedures are embedded i.e. resources are booked timeously on Retain and subsequent
    • changes are effected as soon as information becomes available.
    •  Responsible for matching staff capacity to the pipeline of upcoming projects to ensure the business has the capabilities to deliver on work that may be contracted.
    •  Responsible for ensuring that engagements are sufficient staffed by confirming that resources are booked on Retain in accordance with work in our contracted work
    • schedule.
    •  Responsible for identifying the best suited resources for complex, multi-skilled tender responses / proposals.
    •  Responsible for communication to business regarding available staff.
    •  Driving behaviour to update Match as a central data point for staff skills in order to ensure best fit on engagements.
    •  Understanding career development objectives of individuals and discussing resource opportunities to best match staff objectives.
    •  Supporting performance improvement cases by working with HC as applicable.
    •  Reviewing staff planning per the Price & Profitability Calculator with the objective of aligning to Retain bookings.
    •  Working closely with Global mobility regarding secondments / international engagements.
    •  Working closely with resource planners in other regions / X-LoS to ensure optimal staffing on engagements.


    •  Ensure resource planners provide feedback to competency leaders regarding accuracy of resource planning vs actual hours booked.
    •  Compile monthly utilisation reports for distribution to business on a weekly basis as well as the monthly reports for inclusion in the management pack.
    •  Alignment of reports to competencies to ensure consistency and to provide leadership with consolidated view.
    •  Review commentary provided per competency / business unit regarding headcount and hours forecasting.
    •  Obtaining reasons for utilisation variances from individuals and reporting to the SM: Resourcing.


    •  Maintain the data integrity of Retain by ensuring agreement to PeopleSoft data i.e. charge out rates, staff grade and staff location.
    •  Maintain a working knowledge of Qlikview, CWS, Match and Maconomy as tools to support effective resource management and reporting.

    Knowledge sharing

    •  Sharing ideas, knowledge and best practise across Resource Management.
    •  Building relationships and working seamlessly with other Op’s functions i.e. HC and Finance

    Independent contractor management

    •  Responsible for sourcing of independent contracts if skills requested by business are not available in-house (as and when required).
    •  Responsible for drafting Master agreement and Statement of Work
    •  Responsible for liaising with PeopleSoft with regards to activation of independent contractors.
    •  Responsible for maintaining contractor register.
    •  Responsible for reporting on contractors statistics i.e. headcount and utilisation on a monthly basis for inclusion in the monthly management pack.
