Job Advert Summary    
PURPOSE:

• To render a rigging service to applicable clients which include safe moving, uploading / off-loading of heavy articles, tools, machinery and equipment in accordance with safe practices.

Minimum Requirements    
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12/Standard 10 Technical (Essential/Minimum)
• N2 Relevant Trade Subjects (Essential/Minimum)
• Trade: Rigger MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE:

• 2-3 years Relevant experience within Heavy industry environment with applicable plant exposure Importance: Essential/Minimum Involvement: Operational

REQUIREMENTS:

• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Pub Driv Lic:Code B ( Essential/Minimum )
• Competence: Core MQA Modules Assessments (Essential/Minimum)
• Competence: On the Job MQA Modules Asses (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities    
The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:

Equipment Operations and Control

• Inspect rigging tools/equipment before and after shift
• Update inspection list at beginning and end of shift
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment and store
• Take responsibility of all rigging and lifting equipment logbooks

Inspection and Control

• Inspect all tools, equipment, instruments prior to use
• Inspect all vehicles/machines/mechanical equipment to identify defects
• Report defects immediately
• Carry out inspection according to a specific schedule to repair identified defects
• Receive, complete and return job cards

Safe and Healthy Work Environment

• Adhere to all health and safety practices and promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
• Address all unsafe practices and potential hazardous situations, rectify/report to superior
• Comply with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC)/technical requirements
• Wear applicable Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times

Skills Management

• Ensure effective and efficient and optimised coordination of people, jobs, tasks, tools and equipment
• Responsible for training and supervision of Aides
• Transfer knowledge and give guidance to Artisan Aides/trainees to improve their skills
• Technical Support
• Expedites rigging processes and procedure
• Loading, transport and unloading of heavy equipment
• Assist with positioning and set up of crane
• Monitoring of light and heavy construction conditions
