    RnD Manager Patisserie Mixes

    Applied R&D (40%)

    • Be familiar with formulation, recipe, process, and equipment and support R&D Lab Technician if available
    • Pilot project inline with the targets of the R&D Manager Patisserie Mixes
    • Ensure continuous building of technical and scientific know-how.
    • Food additive legislation knowledge.

    Customer Support, NPD and Innovation (30%)

    • Project definition based on sales or customer contact.
    • Development of a lab prototype including raw material selection.
    • Follow up of first production trial at the customer’s production plant if requested.
    • Innovation: upon strategy of the R&D Manager Patisserie Mixes, develop strategic projects (collaboration with equipment suppliers, key countries).

    Support Operations (30%)

    • Comprehensive technical support on ingredients supply, process optimization and quality system together with the Process Improvement Engineer.
    • Align with suppliers on raw material specifications.
    • Non-conformities finish good and raw material: advice, support root causing and corrective actions, organize recuperation in collaboration with the Process Improvement Engineer
    • Up scaling of lab prototype to production (in collaboration with the Production department) together with the Process Improvement Engineer
    • Perform other duties as per operational requirements. 

    JOB REQUIREMENT

    • Grade 12 and any relevant Bakery qualification in Baking & Confectionery; preferably a National Diploma in Food Science and Food Technology
    • Driver’s License
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Industrial bakery sector with in-depth knowledge of processes and procedures in Industrial bread plant bakeries; experience in functional bakery ingredients and bakery processing systems; experience in product development of bakery related products and systems; preferably SETA accredited certificate in baking.
    • Computer literacy: MS Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
    • Knowledge of basic arithmetic, and general accounting principles and practices and concepts.
    • Over and above normal working hours; flexible working hours are required depending on customer needs; extensive travelling is required.
    • Written comprehension – the ability to read and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
    • Good communication skills - English is a prerequisite.
    • Ability to read and write in English and any other language(s).
    • Good personality, hardworking, team work, service orientated, creative, innovative, trustworthy, open to learn from feedback.
