Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine is an underground mechanised mine geared to deliver high quality grade chromite for export. The chromite is extracted from underground mining areas at North and South Shafts.

Rock Drill Operator (B1) (Engineering South)
- Job Type Full Time
- Qualification First School Leaving Certificate
- Experience 1 year
- Location Limpopo
- Job Field Engineering / Technical
- The successful applicant will report to the Team Leader or nominee.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
- Competent B Certificate.
EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):
- Completion of a relevant, approved training programme.
- 1 year practical experience as the Rock Drill Operator.
- Advantageous: 6 months practical underground mining experience.
DUTIES (including but not limited to):
- Drill anchor holes required for anchoring of belt structures and equipment.
- Drill anchor holes in foot wall to secure belt structures/tips, etc., according to schedule. Anchoring of winches.
- Drilling, installation, tensioning and grouting of anchor bolts.
- Handling and care of drilling machine and accessories. i.e., thrustle and airleg. Ensure clean and safe.
