We are currently on a search for a Safety Officer to join the largest manufacturer and distributor of major appliances company in Southern Africa, to be based in Lady Smith.
The purpose of the position will be to ensure compliance to all Occupational, Health & Safety requirements applicable to the company. To carry out duties in a manner that will minimize accidents, incidents reducing risk and damage to assets and property whilst increasing awareness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspections & Audits.
Meeting attendance.
Environmental, Safety and Energy awareness.
Aspects and Impacts Files and Risk assessments.
Data compilation/Reporting.
Contractor Induction.
Assessment of Contractor files in line with SHE specifications.
MSDS and Chemical Management.
Environmental, Safety & Energy KPIS.
Incidents and Emergency Drills.
Site Permits and Licenses.
Copies of waybills illustrating correct waste disposal must be filed to present during audits.
Environmental Monitoring.
Safety and Environmental Induction and Training.
Safety and environmental Meetings and Awareness
MINIMUM REQUIREMENT
Diploma in Safety Management
Samtrac, AHSTRAC, HIRA
First Aid Certified
Advanced Fire Fighting
ISO 14001, ISO 45001 (Implementation & Internal Audit)
ISO 50001 will be an advantage.
Waste Management Experience
Legal Compliance
Valid Driver’s License.
Experience with working in a Unionized environment.
