    Lab Technician

    Job Description

    • We are searching for a Lab Technician

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist with the development of Cooking and Laundry Products through testing.
    • Auditing of existing and new products, components, and prototypes.
    • Ensure products meet accepted, safety, endurance, and energy performance standards.
    • To design/develop/build or modify test products/equipment to ensure the laboratory complies with SANS / EU Standards.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • National Diploma in electrical/electronic Engineering.
    • Minimum of 5 year’s working experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience in testing of appliances or similar products and the design and development of test equipment.
    • Knowledge of IEC 17025 would be advantageous.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proven experience with problem solving.

    Job Description

    • We are currently on a search for a Safety Officer to join the largest manufacturer and distributor of major appliances company in Southern Africa, to be based in Lady Smith.
    • The purpose of the position will be to ensure compliance to all Occupational, Health & Safety requirements applicable to the company. To carry out duties in a manner that will minimize accidents, incidents reducing risk and damage to assets and property whilst increasing awareness.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Inspections & Audits.
    • Meeting attendance.
    • Environmental, Safety and Energy awareness.
    • Aspects and Impacts Files and Risk assessments.
    • Data compilation/Reporting.
    • Contractor Induction.
    • Assessment of Contractor files in line with SHE specifications.
    • MSDS and Chemical Management.
    • Environmental, Safety & Energy KPIS.
    • Incidents and Emergency Drills.
    • Site Permits and Licenses.
    • Copies of waybills illustrating correct waste disposal must be filed to present during audits.
    • Environmental Monitoring.
    • Safety and Environmental Induction and Training.
    • Safety and environmental Meetings and Awareness

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

    • Diploma in Safety Management
    • Samtrac, AHSTRAC, HIRA
    • First Aid Certified
    • Advanced Fire Fighting
    • ISO 14001, ISO 45001 (Implementation & Internal Audit)
    • ISO 50001 will be an advantage.
    • Waste Management Experience
    • Legal Compliance
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    • Experience with working in a Unionized environment.

    • The Senior Specialist R&D Design plays the role of creating a product design that fulfils the organization strategic goals while integrating the needs of marketing, purchasing, quality and the manufacturing department.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • To manage and implement platform projects from conceptual phase to implementation
    • To design products/components and or make improvements/changes to existing products/ components in line with market requirements and trends.

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience in 2D & 3D drawing and modelling.
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a production or R&D based environment
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Product Development/Project Management experience would be advantageous.
    • Good understanding of Sheet Metal Design Principles, Plastic & Electrical components would also be advantageous

    Specialist - Imports Planner

    Job Description

    • We are currently on a search for a Specialist - Imports Planning to join the largest manufacturer and distributor of major appliances in Southern Africa, to be based in Durban, Jacobs.

    Import Planning:

    • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm order quantities, delivery schedules, and shipping methods.
    • Prepare and maintain import shipment schedules and timelines,

    Documentation and Compliance:

    • Ensure all import documentation complies with customs regulations and trade agreements, including invoices, packing lists, and bill of lading.
    • Work with customs brokers to any issues that arise during the import process.

    Supplier Coordination:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers and freight forwarders.
    • Communicate regularly with suppliers to monitor order ready date and query potential delays.

    Cost Management:

    • Evaluate and negotiate shipping costs with freight carriers and logistics providers.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings in the import process through process improvements and strategic sourcing

    Inventory Management:

    • Collaborate with inventory and warehouse management teams to optimize storage and distribution processes.

    Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Analyze import data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.
    • Prepare regular reports on import performance metrics, including lead times, costs, and supplier performance.

    Collaboration:

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including purchasing, finance, and sales, to align import strategies with overall business objectives.
    • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

    MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management
    • 4 - 6 years of experience in import planning, logistics, or supply chain management.
    • Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs compliance requirements.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and supply chain management software (e.g., SAP,).
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
