    Automation Engineer

    Job description:

    • The Engineering department has a vacancy for an Automation Engineer. 
    • The position requires an experienced, methodical, process-driven individual.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for problem solving and the management of daily work tasks.

    The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include:

    • Build and maintain various SCADA packages
    • Drive plant optimization and visualization
    • Manage the standardization of all control systems
    • Record the bill of materials for all SA Metal machines
    • Drafting of Machine user/operator manuals and providing training on the operations

    • SA Metal Group has a position for a committed, hardworking and motivated National Procurement Manager to manage the Procurement Department.
    • The role focuses on managing, maintaining and developing procurement strategies, supplier relationships, ensuring cost efficiency, and supporting operational excellence across the SA Metal Group.
    • The National Procurement Manager is responsible for the effective procurement from essential services to negotiating multi million Rand agreements at National level.
    • The National Procurement Manager is tasked with the management of the two procurement teams: one situated in Cape Town and one team which is based in Gauteng to perform to high standards of delivery and excellence.

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    Security Operations Manager - Epping

    RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW)

    • Conduct daily inspections of security equipment.

    Line Manager (Rolling Mill)

    • The SA Steelworks Division has a position for a qualified, committed, hardworking and motivated Line Manager at our SA Steelworks plant in Cape Town. (SHIFT POSITION)

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

    • Manage Rolling Mill team to achieve set production targets within stipulated standards
    • Must be responsible for minimising of non- productive time
    • Analyse given reasons for periods of non-production against metrics,
    • Confirm findings / conclusions with team members

    • The primary purpose of a Refractory Serviceman is to provide support and service to the Meltshop Department.

    Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

    Transport Manager

    Job Description

    • SA Metal currently has a vacancy for a motivated, professional and organized Transport Manager to join their team in Cape Town.
    • The Transport Manager’s primary purpose is to oversee the transport function SA Metal’s operations in Cape Town, in order to ensure smooth operation and that the requirements of SA Metal’s customers are met.

    HE/SHE WILL ALSO BE REQUIRED TO:

    • Manage the day to day transport requirements overseeing a fleet of almost 100 vehicles.
    • Effective management of a large team of transport controllers, drivers and general workers.
    • Ensure the controllers are continuously monitoring the fleet at all times and are logistically prepared for all situations.
    • Ensure that all customer transport requirements are completed timeously.
    • Accurate daily planning and effective usage of resources.

    • At least 20 years’ experience in the transport field.
    • At least 10 years’ experience in management of transport controllers and schedulers, a transport control room and fleet of at least 10 vehicles.
    • Working knowledge of vehicle tracking and transport systems.
    • A fundamental understanding of the laws governing transport.
    • A fundamental understanding of Labour Law (LRA).
    • Experience with both short and long-haul fleets is preferred.
    • Knowledge of Cape Town and its roads is preferred.

    Job Description

    • The Salaries and wages department requires a process-driven, attentive to detail and organized individual to join their team.
