Safety Officer (Underground Mining Certified) at Phakisa Group

Minimum Requirements

• COMSOC 1 & 2 or relevant Safety Qualification
• Valid SACPCMP registration advantageous
• Valid Red Ticket / Medical Fitness Certificate
• Minimum 3–5 years underground mining safety experience
• Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety Act regulations
• Underground mining safety certification required

Mandatory Certifications

• Valid Working at Heights Certificate
• Confined Space Certificate
• Power Tools Training Certificate

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with underground safety regulations
• Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments
• Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings
• Investigate incidents and compile reports
• Ensure all personnel comply with PPE requirements
• Maintain safety documentation and records
• Promote a strong safety culture onsite
