About the Opportunity
- We are seeking energetic and customer-focused Sales Consultants to join a growing Telesales team within the financial/insurance sector. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about sales, enjoy engaging with customers, and have experience in a telecommunications or insurance sales environment.
- The ideal candidate must be a persuasive communicator who thrives in a sales environment, enjoys interacting with customers, and has the resilience, professionalism, and drive to consistently achieve sales targets while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact customers via outbound calls.
- Build strong customer relationships and identify sales opportunities.
- Achieve a strong customer conversion rate.
- Meet and exceed a prescribed weekly sales target.
- Upsell relevant products and services to existing customers.
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the sales process.
- Maintain accurate customer records and track sales activity.
- Adhere to all compliance and regulatory requirements.
Engage with customers across multiple communication channels, including:

- SMS
- Email
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- NQF Level 6 qualification aligned to FAIS Fit and Proper framework

Compliance
- Applicants must have a clear criminal record and a clean credit record with no adverse judgments.
Experience
- Minimum of 12 months' solid experience in a Telesales environment. No job hopping.
- Proven track record of meeting sales targets and conversion metrics.
- Short-Term Insurance sales experience strongly preferred, but Telesales experience in various other industries will be considered.
- Experience within reputable insurance organizations will be advantageous.
- RE5 qualification is advantageous but not essential.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to build rapport and influence customers.
- Customer service orientated with a consultative sales approach.
- Confident and professional telephone manner.
- Strong objection-handling and closing skills.
- Implement and engage clients for campaigns to increase sales, drive upsell and cross-sell, improve transactional turnover, minimise client disengagement through retention, and improve conversion of sales to active clients.
- Conducts calls which result in uplift in transactional activity, cross-sell, and improved retention.
- Ability to work in a target-driven environment.
- Good administrative and record-keeping skills.
Training & Development
- Product training will be provided.
- Successful candidates will receive product-specific knowledge and sales enablement support.
