Job Purpose:

• We are seeking a skilled Seamstress to join our team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sewing techniques, with particular expertise in creating high-quality inners and underlocking that ensure durability, comfort, and aesthetic appeal.

This position will be based in Epping, Cape Town. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality stitch work that meets expectations
• Select appropriate threads, needles, and embellishments for each project
• Operate sewing machines, sergers, and other equipment to execute stitch work
• Ensure all finished products meet quality standards and are free of defects
• Precision sewing of inners to ensure proper fit and comfort
• Ensure underlocking stitches are uniform and consistent throughout the product
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment

Technical Requirements:

• Proven experience as a seamstress or tailor
• Proficiency in sewing techniques
• Strong attention to detail and precision
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management
• Good communication skills

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification or training in sewing, garment construction, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a seamstress (preferred)
