Assist with annual Life of Mine Planning and Budget Planning, integration of planning and scheduling with operations and optimisation of reserves and reconciliations
Provide Technical expertise to production teams and production meetings
Application of Best Practices
Assess Risks / Critical points on life of Mine Plan
Ensure that costs allocated for project mine planning tasks within specified operation are controlled within the prescribed budget
You will need:
B Eng. /BSc / BTech in Mining Engineering
Mine Managers Certificate of Competency (MMC)
Minimum 8 years’ experience with 2 years appointed Mine Overseer in Production and 2 years appointed Mining Activity Engineer
An in-depth knowledge of legislation relating to the mining industry. E.g., Mine, Health and Safety Act, Chamber of Mines, Environmental Legislation
An in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Operational value chain in Opencast / Underground Operations
Good knowledge of relevant Planning programmes and Design models
A good knowledge of Mining, Value Based Management and Asset Optimisation
Good technical skills in various software packages (especially in Mine Planning)
Advanced written report skills
High level of computer literacy
Valid driver’s license
In possession or able to obtain a Certificate of Fitness
