Job Description

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Consistently apply Safety & Health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
• Act as a role model and reinforce a workplace culture where safety and health for the site is paramount.
• Collect and summarise the specific risks within working area and implement plans/system to avoid these risks.
• Review and assess impact of critical risks, and monitor effectiveness of critical controls relevant to work area.
• Develop strategy implementation details (tactics and work packages) for work management.
• Ensure that the work management process requirements are always adhered to within the operation.
• Execute continuous governance reviews with regards to the work management systems, process and workflow compliances.
• Ensure that the work management planning, scheduling and resourcing processes are being executed by the various role holders as per the work management process requirements.
• Ensure that all ad hoc and urgent work is being managed as per the process requirements.
• Develop and adopt measures for work planning quality within the discipline.
• Drive delivery the sustainability activities as relevant to discipline and set out in the Life of Asset Plan to improve sustainability performance over time.
• Support the development of, and ultimately implement, a purpose-led, high-performing culture within the teams that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversity.
• Manage compliance of the teams within work area with external (legislative, regulatory, permitting) local requirements as a minimum level of site performance.
• Adhere to Anglo American compliance requirements and ensure compliance of teams within work area.

This role is in the Integrated Planning & Operating Model department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Manager Integrated Planning & Operating Model.

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• B-Tech or Bachelor’s degree. (Mining, Industrial, Processing, Geoscience, all the types of engineering),
• Lean, 6 Sigma, Simio Modelling, Project Management advantageous
• Mine planning and Scheduling software (Advantageous)

Experience

• At least 5-8 years experience
• An understanding of the principles of how operational processes are classified according to the Operating Model.
• Demonstrated understanding of Project management fundamentals.
• Business acumen and commercial drivers of site performance
• Demonstrated usage of MS Projects/ Smartsheets/ Thinkcell and @ Risk Monte Carlo
• Valid Driver’s Licence: Code B (Light Vehicle)
