Senior Analyst Programmer ( Magic: Fixed Term Contract ) X2 - Pretoria at FSCA South Africa

Purpose of the Job:

• To apply system solutions to business problems through the design and programming of automated systems. To configure, analyze, design, develop, and maintain in-house developed applications to support business processes and functions. The person appointed to this position will report to the Senior Manager: Applications.

Key Performance Areas:

• Leverage knowledge of application architecture, databases and development techniques to design technical solutions to satisfy business requirements;
• Program applications according to specifications and design.  The various modules must integrate with business processes. Test the functionality with special data in the development environment. Demonstrate new functionality and assist users with testing in a test environment;
• Fix problems with applications and change functionality according to changing business requirements. Work according to the change management procedures of the ICT Department;
• Develop interfaces and link different components with each other and with workflow;
• Train users to utilise in-house applications and provide general support to all application related problems;
• Keep up to date with new developments in the ICT industry (e.g. programming techniques, best practices, etc.) by studying technical manuals and magazines and attending special training.
