Key Tasks & Accountabilities

Business Intelligence and Reporting

• Work in the BI development team, with specific emphasis on delivering meaningful information into the different business areas
• Translate functional and technical specifications into relevant programming language
• Elicit business requirements and translate them into user friendly and accurate output
• Find effective software solutions to information challenges
• Ensure that BI applications perform as required by business
• Ensure alignment to architectural principles and validations
• Ensure that reference documentation is kept up-to-date
• Provide guidance and support to junior team members
• Engage colleagues and senior management on data requirements

Learning and Growth

• Discuss and agree a development plan with the line manager
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the current job purpose
• Proactively investigate options that support learning goals through participation in projects, self study and formal training

Qualifications

Essential:

• Matric
• Base / Advanced SAS Certification
• QlikView Designer / QlikView Developer courses

Beneficial:

• Tertiary qualification (B.Sc. Informatics or similar degree)
• SAS Platform Administration
• QlikView administration

Experience

• At least 8 years experience in Base SAS, used partially in a senior position
• At least 3 years experience in QlikView development
• ETL and dimensional modelling experience

Knowledge:

• Data Architecture knowledge (nice-to-have)

• SAS (Base and Enterprise Guide)
