    Senior Broker - Johannesburg

    As the Senior Broker in Property, your responsibilities will include:

    • Acting as the primary point of contact within the broking team for specific clients in order to provide specialist advice to the clients and colleagues (country-wide).

    Providing advice to clients and colleagues on

    • placement design,
    • available coverage and capacity,
    • pricing,
    • potential coverage enhancements and
    • market progress within scope of responsibility
    • Negotiating terms and conditions of placement.
    • Working in partnership with clients (where applicable) and colleagues to ensure clients’ needs and expectations are met.
    • Working in partnership with client facing colleagues in understanding the coverage needs of clients and how property insurance dovetail with other product lines.
    • Advising on collection of relevant risk information and analyzing risk information for risk transfer solutions.
    • Responsible for identifying appropriate channels for risk placement based on security guidelines and other requirements.
    • Responsible for issuing broking notes, policies and endorsements for existing renewals and new placements.
    • Negotiating terms and conditions on placement with carriers.
    • Providing technical advice to colleagues and clients (when required) on placement design, available coverage and capacity, pricing, potential coverage enhancements, market changes and make recommendations within scope of responsibility.
    • Possessing an awareness of larger Aon / department / team strategies.
    • Building strong relationships within the market and with relevant Aon network and other internal stakeholders (Aon Re, Risk Consulting, New Business etc).
    • Responsible for maintaining awareness of all available Aon SPS products and utilizing them appropriately.
    • Maintaining necessary management information and completing required administrative tasks.
    • Applying company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
    • Promoting the Aon brand.

    Qualifications.

    • A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
    • A Bachelor’s degree is preferable
    • Must be registered as a representative (RE5) with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act
    • Must be registered as a licentiate with the IISA

    Knowledge.

    • Excellent knowledge of property, breakdown, interruption, political violence and Sasria type policy wordings
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the South African and international short-term insurance markets.
    • Strategic knowledge of industry and business strategies and company goals.
    • Computer literacy with advanced knowledge in MS Word and Excel.
