Senior Buyer at Ford Middle East & Africa

• Processing of purchase orders for goods and services
• Sourcing suppliers to fulfill demand and align with company strategy
• Maintain vendor information and item master records
• Monthly reporting on savings and BBBEE spend
• Expediting purchase orders to ensure that priority plan is current
• Driving the B-BBEE company strategy
• Negotiation with Suppliers
• Supplier evaluation
• Participate in initiatives to improve procurement system in order to optimize working capital
• Supplier interaction at leadership levels including tender analysis and supplier performance

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills to discharge job duties
• Understanding of commodity fundamentals which influence product cost, piece price, quality, performance and capacity
• Well-developed collaboration/ negotiation skills
• Good presentation and computer skills
• Above basic excel skills
• Well-developed business acumen and finance knowledge to ensure that accurate sourcing decisions are made
• Ability to manage change and conflict

Qualifications & Experience:

• National Diploma or Degree in Purchasing or equivalent relevant tertiary qualification
• Min 3-5 years purchasing or related experience in relevant disciplines and previous automotive purchasing experience would be a distinct advantage
