Senior Civil Engineer at Hatch

Key responsibilities of this role include:

• Delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost, and schedule. Prepare engineering calculations and technical specifications
• Prepare and/or review project procedures, standard specifications, and design criteria
• Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers and designers
• Perform conceptual, preliminary, and detailed engineering designs and 3D models
• Participate in and contribute to design reviews
• Develop and maintain the project scope of work documentation
• Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates
• Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports, within areas of expertise
• Ensuring co-ordination with designers and engineers within the civil discipline and with other disciplines. Sound understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards and the ability to function with minimal supervision.

You bring to the role:

• A recognized civil engineering degree from an accredited university with 10+ years civil design experience
• Registered Professional Engineer registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa
• Working knowledge of AutoDesk and Bentley products, including but not limited to AutoCAD Civil3D, Infraworks, Microstation, Projectwise
• Previous experience in completing civil infrastructure design assignments, including earthworks, stormwater management, road design and wastewater collection systems preferably for large mining and infrastructure projects while working within a multi-disciplinary environment will be advantageous.
