    Senior Consultant - Air Quality Consultant (Mid-Senior Level)

    ERM seeks an experienced Senior Air Quality Consultant to provide technical expertise, project management, and business development support for our Air Quality Service Area in South Africa and the EMEA region. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior professional to manage and contribute technically to a variety of industrial projects.  The successful candidate will also network with ERM's regional air quality technical team to share best practices and consulting opportunities, as you build a rewarding career path with a global environmental leader.  

    Role expectations:

    • Deliver and project manage a variety of Air Quality related projects and provide specialist inputs into ESIA and ESDD type work.
    • Navigate client projects through Air Quality related licensing and permitting applications.
    • Manage and appoint subcontractors for the required specialist studies.
    • Develop client proposals and to build client relationship as well as developing their own internal and external network.
    • Ensure client satisfaction through project communication and engagement.

    The ideal candidate must have:

    • A very good understanding of industrial air quality
    • Good experience in preparation of emissions inventories
    • Experience of a wide range of project types (for example, power, oil and gas, mining, waste etc.)
    • Proficient in the use of dispersion models such as Aermod, ADMS, or Calpuff
    • Good experience in preparation of impact assessment reports for EIA, ESHIA and preferably understanding of IFC requirements
    • Proficient in the design, implementation and running of ambient air quality monitoring programs (this does not need to include use of Reference method monitors)
    • Good understanding of commercial aspects of consultancy, including key metrics and track record in managing financial aspects of projects
    • Project management experience
    • Proposal writing and budget preparation experience
    • Personable in communicating with clients and with public when on site
    • Fluent English language skills spoken and written
    • The ideal candidate may have:
    • Stack emissions testing experience (basic upwards)
    • Traffic modelling experience (CALINE or ADMS Roads)
    • Air quality monitoring using Reference methods
    • Second language (any, but Portuguese or French particularly helpful)
    • Business development experience
