    Senior Continuous Improvement Specialist

    • A steadfast/solid and fully qualified Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt individual that is experienced in embedding continuous improvement in organization’s using Lean Six Sigma methodology and has the ability to demonstrate the value derived from this.
    • Demonstrated success in implementing simplified processes and the value derived from it. Have the ability to always link it back to our strategy and how it enables the strategy.
    • Ability to interpret and understand the Engen strategy and the role Continuous improvement plays in the delivering the strategy.
    • Ability to influence people from different levels within the organisation and the ability to influence individuals to become Continuous Improvement influencers.
    • Ability to engage and coach individual employees on their lean six sigma projects.
    • Be flexible and responsive while keeping the project on course.
    • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
    • Ability to work on your own and work effectively.
    • Problem- solver and ability to manage and resolve conflicts amicably
    • Passionate about finding solutions to challenges and have a passion to solve difficult situations.
    • Ability to lead the team with passion and confidence. Inspire the team to always wanting to do better.
    • Mature individual with high cognitive and emotional intelligence.

    What you’ll have done before:

    Baseline:

    • NQF level 7 (Degree/Advanced Diploma) Commerce, finance or equivalent
    • At least 8 years related experience.
    • 6 years’ experience in driving business process improvement using LEAN Six Sigma.
    • 2 Years’ experience in Project Management.
    • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
    • Exceptional coaching skills.
    • Demonstrated the ability to apply Lean six sigma methodology.
    • Experience working with people on different levels.

    Advantageous:

    • MBA
    • Certified Scrum Master
    • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
    • Understanding of the oil industry
    • Knowledge of Agile methodologies

     What you’ll be doing

    • Support and embed a continuous improvement culture across Engen by training key employees in Lean Six Sigma methodology.
    • Together with the process owner implement process improvement initiatives thereby driving out efficiencies, reducing costs and increasing customer satisfaction.
    • Prepare materials for Lean Six Sigma training to management and staff to bring awareness on waste identification and how to use basic Lean Six Sigma toolkit.
    • Support the organisation in identifiying and implementing process improvement initiaitives through working closely with process owner to drive data collection and to prepare recommendations to decision makers to ensure processes within the organisation are robust, up to date and able to deliver targeted results.
    • Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques through continuous engagement with the staff on methodology & processes to improve process performance and product quality across Engen.
    • Enhance awareness and promotions on process improvement through sharing of content on success story to intranet or other communication channel to create an organisation that is well informed on process improvement activities.
    • Support the business by documenting and monitoring business processes, business rules and metrics resulting from business improvement initiatives.
